Kayla Kerrone, b. 1991

Hamburg, Germany → Vancouver Island, Canada.

Kayla Kerrone is a Vancouver Island born photographer and artist whose work has always been layered by the natural world. Since graduating from Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Kerrone’s focus has primarily been on analog photography where she creates images that are punctuated by wild landscapes and movement in nature.

For Kayla, photography has always been more than just taking photographs. She believes it is an extension of life - a tool that helps frame the unknown and helps shape her identity. She works to capture stories that inspire humans to consider their relationship with nature and get outside.

Today, Kayla finds herself back on Vancouver Island, after 10 years away, where she continues to use her camera as a compass to create wild, offbeat stories that make people look twice.
